They seemed to be ahead of MindNode when it came to adding features. I clicked through to older posts going to years back to see what they’ve added. Just going through their blog and seeing what they’ve announced over the years has shown that they’ve been actively developing it for years now. The iThoughts folks have been busy as well. I haven’t found anything in MindNode 6 that makes me want to switch from iThoughts. But it might be overwhelming for someone who just wants an easy to use task manager. But a power user will appreciate OmniFocus 3. In the same light, Things 3 is a very capable app and is probably the easy choice for many users. iThoughts has more power and features that many users might not care about. Things 3 has a beautiful interface and will feel comfortable for users who bought into that ecosystem. I feel this is like the Things 3 vs OmniFocus 3 argument. iThoughts has more features that might not mean much to others. If you’re looking for basic mind map features, go with either one. iThoughts has a slideshow mode if you want to do presentations as well. iThoughts has some project management features such as cost and effort analysis, task progress (not started, 10%, 25%, 50%, 75%, done) that separates itself from MindNode. Something like export to OmniFocus and Quick Entry screen gives the nod to MindNode. The only remaining things that differentiate between the two apps are special case scenarios. Most of the basic mind map features are there. I did download MindNode 6 and have been running it through for a couple of days now. iThoughts was further along the road and MindNode was just a babe in the woods at version 2.Īn aggressive development schedule has moved MindNode much closer to iThoughts in terms of having the main features in a mind map. I was faced with this choice a few years ago. iThoughts has the ability to work special categories of notes such as tasks with due-dates, resources (people in orgs), cost calculating nodes, and project progress (for nodes that have tasks).Īnyone else have experience with these two and if so, any thoughts on how they compare? I’d heard a lot of good things about MindNode and expected that after I tried it I’d be inclined to purchase but after my initial exploration I’m actually thinking I’d be better off sticking with iThoughts. An example, the project I’m mapping is a collaborative local history project which includes several small non-profits, various resources being digitized, a podcast and a website where the materials will be catalogued. With iThoughts there was more to learn and more that I could do. After an hour of using them I felt like I’d gotten a solid handle on how they each work (very similar) but also had the sense that I’d reached the limit of MindNode’s feature set. It’s got support for markdown in the notes for nodes, the ability to import a greater variety of objects, and far more export/sharing options. Also, two finger tap to undo is a nice touch and a feature I’m coming to like thanks to Procreate and the Affinity apps.īut iThoughts seems to be the more capable app. It’s also got newly announced support for second, external USB C monitors which might be nice for some. MindNode is better in the area of visual style with a couple of added features. I spent an hour with each app and came away with the impression that iThoughts is a more powerful app in almost every way. Yesterday I saw the new version of MindNode was released so I downloaded it for the free 2 week trial. As it happens I’ve got a new project coming up that would probably benefit from actually diving in with this kind of app. I’d previously purchased iThoughts and used it a little but my projects don’t often require that kind of app. Ian Fleming’s James Bond may be the most consistent reference material in Archer, but the career of Mr. “Southbound and Down” (Season 5, Episode 5) We get the origin of “phrasing,” a great recurring joke on Archer, and even why he’s referred to by his surname instead of his first name in one of the more dependably amusing episodes since Reed stopped writing.Ģ3. One of the all-time kings of smarmy jerks, Bruce Campbell, plays Archer’s mentor, McGinley, in a series of flashbacks to the time that the young agent spent in Japan, falling in love with a local named Reiko. This list’s only episode from the 2020s makes the cut for two reasons: some great origin material for Sterling Archer and a piece of excellent guest vocal work that really should have happened a decade earlier. “Dingo, Baby, Et cetera” (Season 12, Episode 6) He discovers that not only is Troy alive (for now) but that he’s opened a bed-and-breakfast at which he wants to live happily ever after with Sterling, giving Benjamin and Olyphant some hysterical repartee in an episode that just flies in terms of pacing.Ģ4. After Lucas reportedly dies, Sterling becomes convinced that he faked out, traveling to Vermont to find his childhood BFF. The Justified star plays Archer’s best friend, Lucas Troy, who trained with him for ISIS but has now betrayed the company for its nemesis organization in ODIN. Guest voice actors often elevate the most memorable episodes of Archer, and this one gets a great boost from another FX legend, Timothy Olyphant. “The Wind Cries Mary” (Season 4, Episode 2) If you’re eager to do a little catchup before the final run or even just revisit some of the best, here’s our list of the gang’s 25 most essential adventures.Ģ5. At one point, Archer even went into a coma for three years, allowing for self-contained seasons in which the voice actors played different characters - Dreamland (season eight), Danger Island (season nine), and 1999 (season ten).Ĭreator Adam Reed stepped back from a writing role to executive produce when Archer came out of his coma in season 11, taking some of the show’s ingenuity and cleverness with him, but there have been memorable episodes in every season of Archer. Krieger (Lucky Yates) stole scenes as they saved the day. Lana’s awkward ex, Cyril (Chris Parnell), was typically mocked for being less of an alpha male than Sterling, while supporting characters like Cheryl Tunt (Judy Greer), Pam Poovey (Amber Nash), Ray Gillette (Adam Reed), and Dr. Episode structures in the early years were pretty reliable: Archer got into trouble, usually because of his ego, and the superior spy Lana (Aisha Tyler) bailed him out. Jon Benjamin (also Bob on Bob’s Burgers, among many others) plays Sterling Archer, a narcissistic riff on 007 who initially worked for an agency called ISIS (a name discarded after a few seasons for, well, reasons), run by his demanding mother, Malory (the late, great Jessica Walter). The show that started as a spoof of spy movies and TV shows evolved over the years in a way that kept it alive for much longer than most modern comedies. It’s time to say good-bye to Sterling Archer, Lana Kane, Cyril Figgis, and the rest of the gang on FX’s hit animated comedy Archer, which premieres its 14th and final season on August 30. “No One Cares” Trend | Example: Posting a video to this audio contrasting the way you would live your life depending on how you interpret the phrase “no one cares”, showing the freeing side of how life can be when you free yourself of the idea that people are judging you. “Maturing” Trend | Example: Posting a comical video to this audio where you start with a text overlay statement in the format of “Maturing is realizing that _” followed by a twist at the end where you show yourself doing said thing, along with a text overlay saying either “I’m immature” or “Jk I’m _ ”. I don’t mean that as a knock in fact, it’s part of Dead Space’s appeal. It’s one area where I can feel that it came from a pre- The Last of Us world. The new version tries to give its story a little emotional infusion by turning the once-silent Clarke into a fully voiced protagonist, but that doesn’t change much, other than breaking up some stretches of silence. It gives glimpses of what its version of 2508 looks like, balancing capitalist satire with searing indictments of religious cults. Dead Space spends a lot of time setting the groundwork for the franchise rather than telling a complete tale. Story was not the first installment’s strong suit, and that’s never been much of an issue. All of that holds true as Dead Space still exists as a perfectly engineered popcorn game. It’s a compact game that balances tense jump scares with power-fantasy action. The story of Isaac Clarke, an engineer who finds himself stranded on an abandoned mining ship (the USG Ishimura) overrun with murderous necromorphs, plays like an even more grotesque homage to Aliens. If I’m simply looking at Dead Space (2023) as its own piece rather than critiquing its effectiveness as a remake, it undoubtedly still works as a third-person horror experience. If you’ve played the 2008 version to death, though, nothing here is likely to deepen your relationship with it. Its limb-carving combat and claustrophobic atmosphere still outclass its peers 15 years later, and that fact is only emphasized with some smart adjustments. It’s so respectful that I can’t help but compare it to Gus Van Sant’s shot-for-shot take on Psycho when playing it, leaving me to wonder how necessary a project like this really is.įor anyone who’s yet to play one of gaming’s horror greats, the new take on Dead Space is a fairly definitive version of the experience. Several moments had me outright misremembering the 2008 version, as the developer reworked things with tweaks that feel like they were there all along. Even when it does break from the script, it does so in a way that’s sure to trigger the Mandela Effect for fans. Every choice it makes is in service of the original, from modernizing its few dated systems to making each weapon more viable in combat. That’s precisely the route developer Motive Studio went with in its retelling of Dead Space. Zoom’s goal is to make Zoom meetings better than in-person meetings. Our background is in making our clients look better! Avoid setting up for your meeting where people might walk behind you. Anytime your web-cam sees movement (color changes), it could affect how your virtual background is presented. When using a virtual background, remaining somewhat still will help reduce any odd halo-effects. This file format will provide the best-looking virtual background, especially if it’s a photograph. Your graphic designer can save the background as an RGB. This is a 16×9 ratio that’s a standard setting in Zoom and other virtual meeting platforms.
The traditional g/L amounts of major macronutrients support the growth of many bacteria and archaea, it is often toxic to isolates from marine environments where, beyond the coastal areas, nutrient concentrations are extremely limiting. These are present as contaminants of glassware and water and are typically structural components of enzymes or cofactors. Micronutrients (e.g.cobalt, copper, manganese, zinc) are also required, but at ~1000-fold lower levels. These can be further differentiated into major macronutrients (C, H, O, N, P, S) which have traditionally been added to microbiological growth media at g/L amounts, and minor macronutrients (K +, Mg 2+ and Fe), traditionally added at mg/L amounts. Collectively these elements are referred to as the macronutrients. Required at slightly lower levels are cations: potassium (K+), which is needed for enzymes, and magnesium ions (Mg 2+), which is used to stabilize ribosomes and membranes, iron (Fe 2+) which is needed for electron transport systems, as well as for enzymes and calcium (Ca 2+). Sulphur is necessary for a few amino acids, as well as several vitamins. Phosphorous is also a crucial component of nucleic acids it is also required for the synthesis of phospholipids, and adenosine tri phosphate or ATP. In particular, cells need nitrogen for the formation of proteins, nucleic acids, and a few other cell components. In addition to requiring a source of carbon, hydrogen and oxygen to build these molecules, cells need a source of three other elements at relatively high levels: nitrogen, phosphorus, and sulphur. Organic molecules contain, minimally, carbon and hydrogen, however oxygen is typically also present. The majority of dry weight of cells comes from organic molecules. So although the golden rule for laboratory cultivation is to try to replicate the conditions from the natural environment, this is not always effective and cultivation conditions are always selective. Another problem is the “patchiness” of the physicochemical conditions of an environment – that is conditions may change over microscopic distances. Culturing many microorganisms is challenging because of highly specific nutritional and environmental requirements, and the diversity of these requirements among different species. The study of microorganisms is greatly facilitated if we are able to culture them, that is, to keep reproducing populations alive under laboratory conditions. After the solar cover, the heat pump stopped running almost entirely during the day, stayed at 90, and would kick on at night to help maintain the temperatureģ. Before the solar cover, the heat pump was running all day and night to maintain a ~20 degree heat differential with nighttime lows, couldn't make it to 90 degrees during the day (stayed closer to 80-85).Ģ. Surprisingly, it seemed to work rather well:ġ. So I got to work with two rolls of bubble wrap and a roll of packing tape.and wa-la! A redneck solar cover. I needed 2 rolls to cover most of my pool except for the tanning ledge. So.I made my own! Sam's Club has these roles of bubble wrap at $15/each. But, as a new pool owner I didn't want to drop $200+ on a solar cover that we may not end up using a ton, and I had no way of getting a solar cover the right size quickly between Xmas and New Years. Wanting to keep the pool heated for a week with the nighttime temps dropping into the low 60s (or lower), optimizing my energy bill, and making efficient use of my electric heat pump, I knew a solar blanket would be ideal. As a new pool owner (filled in October) that hasn't gotten a chance to use the pool much.we heated the pool up and had an Xmas day pool party! Okay! I couldn't find any example of someone else trying this on this forum, so figured I'd be the guinea pig and post about it in case anyone else gets the same crazy idea I had.ĭuring the week of Christmas/New Years here in Dallas we had uncharacteristic high temperature.was over 80 a few days and multiple days of mid to high 70s.
